Happy New Year 🥳 and wishing all Bulls players the best of luck as the 2022 Bowls Season Calendar kicks off! Here's to another successful year!🥂
The 2022 Calendar Bowls Season is underway and it will mean a very active time for the Club with January already getting us off to a busy start.
In Premier League the top team is running first winning all five games and thirteen of fifteen rinks and the A’s are sitting in 4th place and looking good for a playoff run. Obviously the inclusion of Aron Sherriff full time at the club has helped the premier league team.
The Max Morris 7s have completed four out of six rounds and three teams are looking good for a finals birth.
The Premier 7’s starts off with a double header this weekend.
The Club Championships have started though Covid-19 has delayed the fours. We have had a record number of entries for all three major events in both mens and womens. The men have 46 pairs teams which is double what the Club had just 3 short years ago and 67 entries in the mens singles, which is a fantastic result.
Social bowls is going well. Tuesday and Thursday mornings we are getting 3 greens, while the afternoons are seeing around 24 players, even with the heat. We expect Wednesday night to pick up in the hot weather and players getting in some practice for Premier League - players are also able to get a game Saturday morning.
I would like to thank FENNIX for sponsoring the Premier League and Terry Neal and BOULEVARD TOWERS for their help with accommodation for our two marquee players for Premier League.
Aron Sherriff has started coaching on Wednesday afternoon and the Club will go from strength to strength with Neville Wood-Bradley, Gail Waitai and Aron helping our members become better players. Their guidance is already paying dividends with the improvement the Club saw last year in inter-club competitions.
Greens 1, 2 and 3 have come back after renovation very well, with speed in the greens and smooth running. Green 4 just went into renovation and is already looking great - a big "Thank you" to all the volunteers who assisted with the renovation period - you're help is much appreciated.
