Victorian Men's Rep, Josh Corless will be a spearhead for the Hornets, whilst Victorian Pairs Champion, Ben Hubber won't be far from the jack as standard.
A strong Sydney crew who will have their eyes on the prize...
Engadine Cougars (NSW)
Well known around the state of NSW, the Cougars were the Grade 1 State Pennant Runners Up earlier this year. They have class and talent, but can they mix well enough for a finals berth?
NSW Representatives, Mason Lewis (Open) & Callum Murray (Under 25) are some of the finest young talent in the State and will be hard to beat on the Broadbeach greens, as will rising talent Jordan Thompson appearing in his first 5-a-Side event. Jack Lewis is no stranger to big occasions, having also represented NSW on numerous occasions in Under 25's. Rounding out the five stars is Chris Roberts who will be vying with the Cougars for the $24,000 Winner's cheque.
A team who will look to go deep into the tournament. It's the boys from Adelaide

Could it be the crew from Tassie that become the 2022 Champions? We introduce you to the
Kingborough Tigers (TAS)
Another side that are no strangers to high pressure situations. The Tigers have won three Southern Tasmania Premier League titles, along with a State Premier League flag. Kingborough hold the second largest membership in the Southern Region of Tasmania, with plenty of top players amongst the crew.

Our second international side the team from New Zealand. It's the ...
South Island Storm (NZ)
They have some Aussie flavour amongst the team and will be ready to rock the competition next week. This crew is a great bunch of people. They are Broadbeach regulars and know the four greens back to front. Not to mention some close family ties here. The Storm will cause a few upsets, so keep on eye on them.
Roger & Bronwyn Stevens are amongst the Kiwi blood in this team. The pair are Division 1 reps on the Gold Coast, with Bronwyn being a Development Blackjack for New Zealand. They are joined by former New Zealand rep Dean Drummond and the strong Burleigh brother duo of Gary & Ian Law.
They've won 5-a-Side events before, can they do it again?
Warilla Gorillas (NSW)
One of the hottest sides, the Warilla Gorillas, have a total combined weight of just over a ton (of bowls talent that is), you won't have time enough to count all the State, National and International titles amongst these players.
Australian Jackaroo's Aaron Teys & Corey Wedlock will headline the Gorillas for their campaign, as will Northern Ireland's Gary Kelly who will be ready to pulverize some of his opposition. World Cup Champion, Jeremy Henry will watch over the youthful Gorilla's, whilst Lee Stinson will be sure to pack all of his good bowls for the Gold Coast trip.
An awesome club with an awesome team name - we think so anyway. It's the ...

We look forward to welcoming some International flavour to this year's tournament. What a great side to have as part of the event. The only team in the competition with five International Players making up the side. Watch out, these guys will be a threat to the rest of the field.

Melbourne Demons (VIC)
These guys are definitely in for a shot at the 2022 title.
The Dees are a close-knit group of mates who have thrived on the Victorian stage for a very long time. These boys are no strangers to the 5-a-Side format, and will bring past experience to the greens in just over a weeks time.
Australian Open Pairs Runner-Up Brett Spurr will skip disciplines for the Demons, alongside former Victorian State skip Matt Ellul. The experience continues with Melbourne sending Ben Fearn, Bryce Young & Curtis Hanley up to the Gold Coast to compete.

Souths Suburban Sharkies (QLD)
Souths Suburban are one of the strongest clubs in North Qld. They have been a dominant team in the Mackay District for many years. Can the Sharkies dominate the field at Broadbeach?
The side will feature Premier League Queensland Skip Robert Hammond as a marquee player for the Mackay side. The 'Pistol' Peter Blackburn will be a key player in the team, along with Australian Triples Champion Peter 'Tool' Balderson, Rick Dunn & Brody Johnson.
Lastly we showcase a new team in the 5-a-Side competition. From metropolitan Melbourne, it's the
Whittlesea Eagles (VIC)
Whittlesea are a former Premier Division club in Melbourne, having tasted plenty of success around the grounds. They are looking to climb back up the rungs into Premier Division, and we're certain they wouldn't mind a 5-a-Side title either.
The side will feature a strong outfit including Australian Open Runner-Ups, Ben Winther (Pairs) and Thor Shannon (Fours). Locals Paul Williamson, Robbie Millar & Kyle Williams will also join the Eagles. They are ready to soar into the Gold Coast and take on the field.
Thirdly we're pleased to introduce the home side...

The club have also recruited Adam Troth & Rick Lucey to represent The Diggers on the Gold Coast. They will be watched over closely by Club Director Ronnie Moore, taking on the role as Team Manager.
From the vineyards and wineries of South Australia we welcome another mighty side, the
Grange Dolphins (SA)
The Grange Dolphins will be keen for the 5-a-Side title with this strong crew. Metropolitan Premier League Champions is not all they will want on the history boards this year.
Australian Representative Wayne Ruediger will lead the Dolphin's charge, along with one of SA's most lucrative skip's, Craig Mills. Young stars Tyson Wilson and Nathan Black will be highly valuable assets for Grange, along with the current SA State Pairs Champion, Marc Evans.
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast it's time to introduce the
Kawana Thunder (QLD)
The Thunder lineup is something of another level. These five know what it takes to win major events. Four international representatives and one of Australia's most experienced ... not too shabby!
The Thunder have recruited the talents of Scottish Five-time World Champion, Darren Burnett. He will be joined on the Gold Coast by his brother Ryan Burnett, Australian World Champion, Brett Wilkie, New Zealand Blackjack, Katelyn Inch and Australian Open Fours Champion, Kurt Brown. Anyone else run out of breath reading that? Wow, what a side!
